Open Days at our University Started with the Participation of Our Rector
Open Days at our University began on July 22, 2025, with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, and our General Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay. During the "Getting to Know TGU" session held on the first day of the event, our Rector and General Coordinator answered questions from prospective students and their families, sharing comprehensive information about our University's educational model, international collaborations, campus life, and academic opportunities. Our Rector was accompanied by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya-Ferendeci, and our General Secretary Özgür Ali Şirin. Our Rector and General Coordinator also visited the "Getting to Know the Departments" sessions organized by our academics and informed prospective students and their families about the departments.

The 9th Graduation Ceremony of our University was Held with Pride and Excitement
Our university's 2024-2025 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony was held with great excitement and enthusiasm on June 27, 2025. The ceremony was attended by CoHE Deputy Chairman Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, TGU Consortium President Prof. Dr. Sabine Kunst, DAAD Secretary General Dr. Kai Sicks, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, Beykoz District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer, Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Prof. Dr. Hamide Özden Özkaya Ferendeci, Prof. Dr. Ali Gökhan Yavuz, faculty deans, college directors and academic staff, graduate students and their relatives.
THE Impact Rankings 2025 Success from Our University
According to the results of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, which evaluates the contributions of higher education institutions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), our university was included in the rankings for the first time this year. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, who evaluated the results, said, “We managed to enter the list in a ranking process that we applied for the first time. This is a very important success for us. I congratulate everyone who contributed.”
The Final of the Entrepreneurship Workshop was Held with the Participation of Our Rector
In the last session of the Digitalpark Teknokent Entrepreneurship Workshop organized in cooperation with our university and led by Dr. Suat Genç, participants presented their ideas within the scope of Demo Day. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş, Digitalpark Teknokent General Manager Prof. Dr. Tahsin Engin and Deputy General Manager Tolga Bildirici attended the program and certificates were presented to successful entrepreneurs.
A Cup Ceremony was Held for Our Athletes Who Achieved Success in Sports Competitions
A cup ceremony was held on June 4, 2025 for our athletes who have been successful in various sports events organized and participated in recently at our university. Our athletes who have been successful in various branches and categories received their medals and cups from our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. At the ceremony, our Rector congratulated our athletes for their outstanding performance and wished them continued success in their future sports activities.
Siemens Healthineers General Manager Enis Sonemel Visited Our Rector
Siemens Healthineers Turkey General Manager Enis Sonemel visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız in his office on June 2, 2025. During the visit, evaluations were made regarding possible academic and sectoral collaborations. The visit ended with the presentation of gifts and a souvenir photo.

The 9th High Level Experts Conference titled “Shifting Global Order: Türkiye, EU and the World” hosted by our university on May 29–30, 2025, brought together academics, decision-makers and diplomats specialized in the field of international relations.
Our First Science Cafe Event was Held under the Title of “Parenting in the Digital Age”
The first of the Science Café event series, which was implemented by the Science Communication Office established within the Communication Coordination Office of our University, was organized at Yücel Çelikbilek Cultural Center on May 30, 2025. The program, which was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş and our Secretary General Özgür Ali Şirin, was moderated by our Culture and Communication Sciences Department Faculty Member Dr. Lecturer Dilara Tekrin.
Our Student Became Türkiye Champion in Swimming
Our student and swimmer Naz Duru Kahvecioğlu successfully represented our University in the Swimming Türkiye Championship organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation between 22–25 May 2025, hosted by Isparta Süleyman Demirel University.
A Cooperation Protocol was Signed between our University and Dila Equestrian Sports Club
Our university signed an important protocol with Dila Equestrian Sports Club on May 23, 2025, in order to contribute to the academic development of our students as well as in social and sportive areas.
A “Kindness on Campus” Charity Bazaar was Organized at Our University
The charity bazaar called “Kindness on Campus”, organized by the Idea and Civilization Club, one of our university’s student clubs, was held on our campus between May 20-22, 2025. During the three-day event, students, academic and administrative staff came together at stands where food, beverages and souvenirs were sold and shopped to support Gaza.
Solar-Powered Water Dispenser Commissioned at Our University
A solar-powered water dispenser project, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Murat Hamderi from the Department of Civil Engineering at our Faculty of Engineering, was officially inaugurated on Thursday, May 22, 2025, with a ceremony held on our campus. The project was developed with the contributions of final-year civil engineering student Taha Yanık and Kamil Ubay, a staff member of our Department of Construction and Technical Works.
Our University Came in Second in the UNILIG 2nd League
Our University Men's Volleyball Team advanced to the finals with its successful performance in the UNILIG 2nd League organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF) and finished the tournament in second place.
Our University’s Men’s Sports Teams Compete in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals
The men’s sports teams of our university achieved remarkable success in the ÜNİLİG 2nd League games organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF). Our men’s volleyball, football, and basketball teams performed successfully in their groups and have qualified for the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız visited the TGU Career Summit’25 event organized on May 13-14-15, 2025, under the leadership of our University Career Centre and Alumni Relations Coordination Office, with the contributions of our student clubs.

Presidential Foreign Policy and Security Advisor Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç, who is conducting lectures this semester in our University's Department of Political Science and International Relations, visited our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız in his office prior to his last lecture. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on our University's international collaborations, academic activities and strategic goals. The visit ended with a photo shoot.
